Peggy Morgan celebrates 25 years as Choir President

Although Peggy has been our President for 25 years, her husband, Herbert, was for many years her predecessor. So as you can see, the Morgan’s have been with us and supported us for more years than many of our current choristers can remember. Having said that, the choristers that remember the Morgan’s have long and happy memories of their devotion and support to all matter that appertains to the choir.

Some information that you may not know about Peggy. She was born in Merthyr and raised in Mumbles, she married Herbert in 1962 and has had an interesting and varied life, marked by a conspicuous record of service to her community. She is a Life President of Mumbles Old Peoples Welfare Association, Life Vice President of Uplands Arts Club, President of Swansea Dog Training Club, President of the Mumbles Ladies Lifeboat Guild, Gold Badge holder of the R.N.L.I., Honorary member of Sängervereinigung 1866 Essen-Burgaltendorf, past President of Mumbles Branch Royal British Legion (Women’s Section), President of Swansea Ladies Bowling Club, Swansea Cymric Ladies Choir, Swansea Inner Wheel Club and committee member of other organisations too numerous to mention.

So, when we think of the 25 years that Peggy has enjoyed in our company many of us take pleasure and we think of the years ahead with her at the helm.

She particularly enjoys the presentation of life membership to those who have served 25 years unbroken years with the choir and takes a delight in retelling their life histories. Needless to say Peggy has accumulated a great store of knowledge and experience of the choir’s affairs and her advice when requested, is thoughtful and wise especially on matters of protocol.
